This biscuit was crunchy and those are my absolute favorite kinds of biscuits. Y'all in the south know biscuits can be fluffy, flaky, crunchy etc. ![]() I had a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and several cups of coffee. I had read some great reviews in the little diary at the yurt from other travelers so I decided to visit. and this breakfast joint was only a hop and a skip away. I was staying in a yurt in West Asheville off of Hazel Mill Rd. Next time we go, we will order plain biscuits, so that we can partake in the offerings at their condiment bar filled with assorted jellies, butters and jams - it will be a tough decision, no matter which direction you head - savory or sweet. As for my meal, the Sausage and Bacon gravies were in a thick slightly red cream gravy, filled with flavor and packing a little bit of spiciness. The bacon in my wife's selection was country bacon, so definitely not the usual fare found in chain restaurants, and unlike those restaurants, this bacon had flavor. Both of our selections were excellent! The biscuits were cooked to perfection, light, flavorful and moist. My gravy choices were Local Pork Sausage Gravy, Fried Chicken Gravy and the Gravy of the Day, which was Country Bacon. I ordered the Gravy Flight which came with my choice of three different gravies (from an available seven types), and a biscuit. This is another farm-to-table restaurant in Asheville that does it right! My wife ordered the "Classic" biscuit, which is an over-sized moist and flaky biscuit sandwich that is filled with Egg, Cheese and your choice of protein, she ordered bacon. The server manning the cash register and taking orders was very personable and was more than happy to make suggestions. We walked through the door, grabbed a menu and then headed to the counter. If you go to the Biltmore location, the restaurant is located in "Doctor's Park" - which is a series of buildings filled with various medical practices, Biscuit Head is located among all of these buildings and can be slightly challenging to find, however, as long as you stay in the complex, you will eventually stumble upon this place. Originally, we planned on going to the West Asheville location, however we made a last minute change of plans and the Biltmore location matched better with our plans. ![]() Upon further research and reading the positive reviews, we decided to give it a shot. When looking for breakfasts locations for our trip to North Carolina, Google returned Biscuit Head as a possible candidate. This review is for the BILTMORE location. ![]()
